Do you depend on groundwater?

Within the Ozark study area, over 60 counties (out of parts of 140) in the Ozark study area are fully dependent on groundwater from public supplies according to the 2005 compilation.

A total of 230 million gallons per day was pumped from the groundwater system in 2005 (source: USGS) within the study area. An additional 814 million gallons per day of water were pumped from surface water sources such as reservoirs and streams, all for public supply.
