Oahu NAWQA: Bed Sediment and Fish Tissue

Spatial Distribution Survey

sland of Oahu with location of spatial distribution survey sites, drainage areas (basin boundary), and land use (Hawaii State Office of Planning Land Use Districts, 2000)..

sland of Oahu with location of spatial distribution survey sites, drainage areas (basin boundary), and land use (Hawaii State Office of Planning Land Use Districts, 2000).

A total of 24 sites were sampled during the spatial distribution survey, including four occurrence survey sites that were re-sampled. A description of each site and available data can be found by selecting the site number on the map or stream name listed in the table below.

During the distribution survey, fish samples were analyzed for selected hydrophobic organic contaminants (organochlorine pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls). Sediment samples from 19 sites were analyzed for trace elements. Sediment samples from 11 sites were also analyzed for semi-volatile organic compounds, organic carbon, and particle size.

A description of each site and available data can be found by selecting the site number on the map or stream name listed in the table below.
