Coupled Real-time Streambank Piezometer and Streamflow Gaging Station
Big Sunflower River at Clarksdale, Mississippi (station 07288000)
The Big Sunflower River at Clarksdale is located in Coahoma County in the northern part of the Big Sunflower River. The channel is cut into alluvium consisting of silt and fine sand. At the site of the gaging station, at Clarksdale, the drainage area is 108 square miles. The piezometer adjacent to the Big Sunflower River at Clarksdale is 1¼ inches in diameter and 21½ feet deep.
Real-time stream water level elevation and groundwater elevation, and stream and groundwater temperature data at this station can be plotted for up to 120 days using the USGS NWIS web pages.
