Coupled Real-time Streambank Piezometer and Streamflow Gaging Station
Big Sunflower River at Sunflower, Mississippi (station 07288500)
The Big Sunflower River at Sunflower, MS is located in Sunflower County in the central part of the Big Sunflower Basin. The channel is cut into alluvium consisting of fine to medium sand. At the site of the gaging station, at Sunflower, the drainage area is 767 square miles. The piezometer adjacent to the Big Sunflower River at Sunflower is 1¼ inches in diameter and 41½ feet deep.
Real-time stream water level elevation and groundwater elevation, and stream and groundwater temperature data at this station can be plotted for up to 120 days using the USGS NWIS web pages.
