Project Title: PCB storm sampling with DRBC
Project Number: 2454AEV
Project Chief:
Project Start Date: 01-APR-2002
Project End Date:30-SEP-2003

Project Objectives

To quantify concentrations and types of PCBs in the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers.

Statement of Problem

PCBs contamination is a problem in the Delaware Estuary. Levels of PCBs being contributed from the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers is unknown.

Strategy and Approach

collect baseflow and storm event samples from the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers. Samples will be collected isokinetically on the rising hydrograph following a rainfall event equaling or exceeding 0.5" over a 24 hour period, and at the same location when no rainfall has occurred within the previous 5 days.
