Robert Brooks was recently hired by the WHFC as an NAGT summer student. Robert recently received his B.S. degree in Geology from North Carolina State University. He will be working with Rob Thieler on a Long Island, Hudson Shelf Valley vibracore cruise, on the analysis of vibracores, and the processing and interpretation of sidescan and seismic data.

Nancy Marth was recently hired by the WHFC as an Enviro Temp contractor. Nancy has a spatial information background in remote sensing, GIS, and GPS and previously worked with FEMA and C&MG in St. Pete. She will be working on a project with Rob Thieler on shoreline susceptibility to sea-level rise, creating a GIS database of three study areas along the US East, Gulf and West Coasts.

Jeremy Malczyk was recently hired by the WHFC as an Oak Ridge intern. Jeremy is a recent graduate of Geology from the University of Vermont. He will be working with Page Valentine on the Stellwagen Bank NMS Mapping Project, compiling interpretive geological and biological maps of the Sanctuary region.

Chris Sommerfield, a continuing WHOI/USGS Postdoctoral Investigator, will be working from the WHFC on the Los Angeles Shelf Project with Homa Lee and other members of the Menlo Park C&MG Team. Chris will be investigating Holocene sedimentary processes in Santa Monica Bay to provide geological perspective to ongoing studies of sediment/contaminant transport and burial history.

St. Petersburg welcomes Rita Bowker, Georgia Destoppelaire, Michael Gray, Jennifer Michael, and Lauren Shapiro.
