Steve Petsch recently started his tenure as a joint USGS/Woods
Hole Oceanographic Institution post-doc. Steve is a geochemist
from Yale where he just completed his Ph.D. He worked on chemical
weathering of black shales with Bob Berner and is an expert in
geochemical models of carbon cycling. At USGS, he will be
contributing his talents to the interpretation of new geochemical
data generated in the Chesapeake Bay Ecosystem History Project.
At WHOI he will be studying the role of microbes in the weathering
of ancient organic matter with Katrina Edwards and Tim Eglinton.
