On November 14th, Keith Kvenvolden received the first Michel T. Halbouty Distinguished
Lecturer Award at the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America in Reno, NV. His
distinguished lecture was titled "The Yin and Yang of Gas Hydrate." Gordie Eaton, former
Director of the USGS, presented the award (a monetary prize).
