This document presents an updated bibliography of water-resources reports related to Tennessee, most of which were authored or co-authored by personnel of the U.S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Division, Tennessee District. The bibliography lists reports published by the U.S. Geological Survey from 1987 to present. Selected articles, papers, and abstracts published by non-U.S. Geological Survey sources for this same period also are listed.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Water Resources Division, has
conducted investigations in Tennessee since 1906. The investigations
and activities include a collection of streamflow records, groundwater
levels, water-quality data, water-use inventories, areal
water-resources appraisals, and research studies. The results of these
investigations are published in a variety of data and interpretive
This bibliography is a compilation of reports published from 1987 through the present. It supplements a previous bibliography for the period 1906-1987 (Baker, E.G., and Massingill, R.C., 1988, Water resources publications of the U.S. Geological Survey for Tennessee, 1906-1987: U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 87-552, 34 p.).
Publications are listed by type of report: professional papers, bulletins,
water-supply papers, circulars, fact sheets, water-resources investigations reports, open-file
reports, data reports, and outside publications (journal articles and
abstracts published by organizations other than the USGS). Some of the
more recent USGS publications listed in this bibliography may be
available from the District Office of the U.S. Geological Survey in
