100% burn with high charring of understory throughout. 100% consumption of litter; of light fuels >70% consumed. 55-65% consumption of duff with deep char. Medium down fuels show > 50% consumption and deep char. < 30% change in soil cover. 100% of grasses, small shrubs, and forbs burned in understory with low resprouting, and no increase in amount of new colonizers due to high soil heating. > 98% of shrubs and small trees burned in plot. 100% of intermediate trees are burned, showing < 5% torch and 85-95% scorch/girdle impacts to crowns. > 98% of big trees burned and show > 98% crown scorch/girdle impacts. 100% of overstory trees died. Char heights > 7 m. Mediterranean California conifer forest and woodland community.
