80% burn with moderately high charring in understory. 100% consumption of litter. 45-55% consumption of duff with deep char. > 60% consumption of medium down fuels; > 40% consumption of heavy down fuels with deep char. 45-55% change in soil cover. 65-75% of grasses, small shrubs, and forbs burned in understory with 70% survival. Moderate increase in amount of new colonizers. 70-80% of tall shrubs and small trees burned with >30% survival. 35-45% of intermediate trees are green with 5-10% torch and 55-65% scorch/girdle impacts. 55-65% of big trees are green with 35-45% scorch/girdle impacts. 30% intermediate and 25% big tree mortality. Char height < 4 m. High rating in strata A increases overall plot CBI average. Mediterranean California Red Fir forest and woodland community type.
