100% burn with high charring throughout. 100% consumption of litter and >98% of light fuel. 100% duff consumption. > 60% consumption of medium down fuel; > 40% consumption of heavy down fuels with deep char. > 80% change in soil cover and color. 100% of grasses, small shrubs, and forbs burned in understory with negligible survival. Low amount of new colonizers due to high severity. 100% of tall shrubs and small trees charred with branch loss. 100% of intermediate trees burned due to > 95% torch and < 5% scorch/girdle impacts. 100% of big trees burned from 35-45% torch and 55-65% scorch/girdle impacts. 100% overstory mortality. Char heights > 7 m. Very high ratings over all strata. Mediterranean California Red Fir forest and woodland community type.
