15% burn with light charring of understory. 5-10% light consumption of litter; 20-30% duff consumption; light char. 15-25% consumption of medium down fuels. 10-15% consumption of heavy down fuels. < 10% change in soil cover. 10-20% of grasses, small shrubs, and forbs burned in understory; high survivorship. Negligible new colonizers. 60-70% of shrubs and small trees burned in understory; 70% remain living. 75-85% of intermediate trees are green with < 5% torch and 10-20% scorch/girdle impacts. 65-75% of big trees are green with 20-30% scorch/girdle impacts. 2% intermediate and 4% big tree mortality. Char height < 1 m. Stratum C is only stratum above 1, but that has little impact on the total CBI. Mediterranean California Red Fir forest and woodland community type.
