90% burn with high charring of understory. 100% consumption of litter and >80% of light fuel. 70-80% consumption of duff. > 60% consumption of medium down fuels; > 40% consumption of heavy down fuels with some deep char. 55-65% change in soil cover and color. 100% of grasses, small shrubs, and forbs burned in understory; <20% survival. 70-80% of tall shrubs and small trees charred; low survival of conifers. 100% of intermediate trees burned with 10-15% char/torch and 85-90% scorch/girdle. > 95% of big trees are burned with 35-45% torch and 55-65% scorch/girdle. Much new litter fall 100% intermediate and 95% big tree mortality. Char height < 2.5 m. Stratum C, only one less than 2, lowers total CBI slightly. Mediterranean California Red Fir forest and woodland community type.
