80% burn with moderate charring of understory. Litter was not rated in strata A due to pre-fire moss cover. 45-55% consumption of duff with deep char. 15-25% consumption of medium down fuels; little consumption of heavy down fuels. 35-45% change in soil cover. 75-85% of grasses, small shrubs, and forbs burned in understory, with about 50% survival. Low numbers of new colonizers. Most pre-fire species remain, but moderate change in species relative abundance expected. About 80% of tall shrubs and small trees burned in understory with 30% survival, mostly the deciduous shrubs. 55-65% of intermediate trees burned with 75-85% crown girdle. 45-55% of big trees burned with 65-75% crown girdle. Low ground char heights 60% intermediate and 50% big tree mortality. Mixed conifer/deciduous forest community.
