Scientists at the U.S. Geological Survey are gaging, measuring and assessing the water levels that increased as a result of the flash floods that occurred last Sunday and Monday in the Kansas City, Mo. area, killing 11 people.

Monitoring of this critical information has been heightened in the aftermath of last week’s record rainfall.

Photo and interview opportunities are available from Wednesday, October 14 through Friday, October 16 as USGS hydrologists conduct measurements at various stream gaging stations around the Kansas City area. Reporters and editors are invited to contact Clint Nagel at 816/254-7272 to arrange an appointment.
