WHAT: A new flood tracking website designed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Water Resources Office in South Dakota will be unveiled Friday, April 6, at a news conference to be held in the USGS Huron Office. Following the news conference, reporters, photographers and TV crews are encouraged to join USGS water specialists at a streamflow-gaging station along the James River in Huron. USGS hydrologists will demonstrate how the USGS is monitoring streamflow and flooding conditions along the James River and in other South Dakota river basins.
