See the artistic talents of your friends and neighbors who work at the U.S. Geological Survey in Reston displayed in an employee art show, Sept. 3-30, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The show subject matter includes brochures, posters and figures from USGS publications depicting a wide range of earth science subjects such as volcanoes, earthquakes, floods, and landslides. Employee personal creative efforts are in oils, acrylics, gouache, airbrush, photography, printed relief and painted shirts.

The public is invited to meet the artists and talk to them about their work at a reception to be held in the art gallery hallway at USGS headquarters (12201 Sunrise Valley Dr.) Sept. 27, from 1-3.

One of the Reston/Herndon area’s largest employers, about 1600 people work in the USGS national headquarters.
